Dispatch software costs

How Much Does iCabbi Cost Per Month?

iCabbi does not publish a price list and quotes per fleet, so every figure in circulation is indicative. The commonly quoted rate is around £12 per vehicle per month — treat it as a ballpark to check your own quote against, not a fact. Billing is commonly described as per licensed vehicle rather than per driver or per trip — indicative only, so get the unit definition in writing on your own quote. Ask about two costs that may sit outside that line: any one-off implementation fee, and any module bolt-ons. iCabbi publishes neither and we hold no figure for either.

The billing unit

What you are actually paying for

iCabbi is commonly described as licensing per vehicle — treat that as unconfirmed until your quote states it, because it is the unit that matters. If it holds, the bill tracks how many cars sit on the licence, not how many drivers work them and not how many jobs you run. A spare, a seasonal car or one off the road for a fortnight bills like your busiest vehicle. Share one car across a day and a night driver and you pay once for two people's work — which is exactly where per-vehicle billing beats per-driver. Count both numbers for your own fleet before comparing any two rates.

The rest of the bill

Costs that sit outside the headline rate

Implementation, quoted as a project

Getting live on a dispatch platform is a project — data migration, zone and tariff configuration, driver onboarding, training — and it is priced like one. iCabbi publishes no implementation figure and we hold no rate card for it. Across platforms in this class the range commonly cited runs from four figures into five. Ask for it as one fixed written number, never a day rate.

Modules that may sit outside the base rate

Web booker, corporate accounts and invoicing, IVR and phone integration, reporting, marketplace connections — on quote-only platforms some of these are in the base licence and some are line items, and which is which varies by deal. iCabbi does not publish a module list with prices. Get the quote itemised so you can see what the headline rate actually buys.

Minimums, seats and term — negotiated, not published

Ask for three separate written numbers: the per-vehicle rate, any monthly minimum, and the contract term. Minimums are set differently by every vendor and rarely published — ours is £79/$100, which only binds below about seven drivers. Ask too whether dispatcher seats, extra offices or additional users are counted separately from vehicles. A low rate on a long term is a different product.

Hardware, the passenger app, and network jobs

Pin down anything physical or per-device: in-car tablets, printers, card terminals, and whether the platform requires specific hardware or runs on the driver's own phone. Then the passenger app — whether a branded build, its store submissions and its ongoing renewals sit in the licence or bill separately. Finally, ask what taking jobs through its operator network costs per job.

Run the numbers

A worked example

Take 30 vehicles worked by 30 drivers. TaxiDex sits on Professional at that count: 30 × £9/$11 = £270/$330 a month, or £3,240/$3,960 across year one — comfortably above the £79/$100 minimum. On the iCabbi side, the commonly quoted ~£12 per vehicle would put the subscription line near £360 a month — indicative, not a quotation, and it excludes implementation and any modules. Flip the same 30 cars to 45 shift drivers and per-vehicle billing wins on that line.

Competitor figures quoted anywhere on this site are indicative market numbers, not quotations we hold. Confirm the current rate — and the line items around it — directly with the vendor.

Questions that get you a straight answer

Ask these of iCabbi, of us, and of anyone else on your shortlist. The answers are more revealing than the headline rate, and they are the numbers a quote is actually built from.

What is the per-unit rate, and is the unit a vehicle, a driver, a dispatcher seat or a trip? Put the definition in writing, not just the number.
What is the monthly minimum, and at what fleet size does it stop binding?
What is the one-off implementation fee as a single fixed figure — not a day rate — and what is explicitly out of scope?
Which of these are in the base rate and which are line items: web booker, corporate accounts and invoicing, IVR, reporting, branded passenger app, API access?
What is the contract term and the notice period, and what does the rate become if I go rolling monthly instead?
If I leave, what data do I get back, in what format, how long does it take, and what does it cost?
Is the driver app branded as mine or as yours? Get it in writing — and ask us the same question, because on TaxiDex the driver app is always TaxiDex-branded.

How much does iCabbi cost per month?

There is no published answer, because iCabbi quotes per fleet and does not publish a price list. The figure commonly quoted in the market is around £12 per vehicle per month, which makes a 30-vehicle fleet roughly £360 a month on the subscription line — indicative only, and worth treating as a ballpark to check your quote against rather than a rate you can hold them to. Implementation and any modules sit on top.

Does iCabbi charge a setup or implementation fee?

Assume yes and get the number early — going live involves data migration, zone and tariff configuration and training, and platforms in this class price that as a project. iCabbi publishes no implementation figure and we hold no rate card for them. The range commonly cited across comparable dispatch platforms runs from roughly £1,200 to £15,000 depending on fleet size and migration scope; that is a sector range, not iCabbi's number. Ask for one fixed written figure.

Is TaxiDex cheaper than iCabbi?

Not answerable against a verified number, because iCabbi's is not public. If the commonly quoted ~£12 per vehicle held, then on the subscription line at one driver per car TaxiDex would be lower — but that figure is indicative only and cannot be held against them. TaxiDex is £11/$14 per active driver on Starter (1–20), £9/$11 on Professional (21–100) and from £7/$9 on Enterprise (100+), with a £79/$100 monthly minimum. Thirty drivers is £270/$330 against roughly £360 at the commonly quoted ~£12 per vehicle. Run 45 drivers over 30 cars and per-vehicle billing wins instead. Count both numbers before deciding.

Why can't anyone tell me iCabbi's price?

Because quote-only pricing is the model, not an oversight. The vendor knows what comparable fleets pay and you do not, which is why renewals turn into negotiations. We hold no copy of anyone else's rate card, and we have not found rate data published on the review and comparison sites we have checked. The practical answer is to make the quote itemised and written: per-unit rate, minimum, term, implementation, modules and exit terms as separate numbers.

What should I budget beyond the monthly licence?

Four lines. Implementation, as one fixed figure. Modules — web booker, corporate invoicing, IVR, reporting — where the split between base rate and line item varies by deal. Anything per-device or physical, from in-car tablets to card terminals. And exit: what your customer, driver and trip history costs to extract, in what format, and how long it takes. Ask all four before you sign, not at renewal.
