The driver-retention levers

Recruiting drivers is hard; keeping them is harder. These are the levers that move take-home pay — and loyalty — without touching your margins.

0% commission

Drivers keep 100% of the fare and 100% of tips. TaxiDex bills the operator on a flat per-trip fee — never the driver — so take-home pay isn't eroded by a revenue share that climbs with every job.

  • No per-trip cut from driver earnings
  • Tips paid straight to the driver, uncommissioned
  • Operator pays roughly $0.10–$0.15 per trip on the back end

Instant payout

Daily wallet payouts land on a driver's debit card via Stripe Connect — no waiting a week for earnings. Fares are calculated server-side by the fare engine, so every settlement is auditable and disputes are rare.

  • Same-day payouts to debit card via Stripe Connect
  • Commission plans and settlements computed automatically
  • Every payout backed by an auditable, server-side fare

In-app coaching

The driver app surfaces the best zones, peak times, and top-earning routes from your booking data. Drivers up-skill on the job and chase the right demand instead of idling — lifting earnings without lifting your commission.

  • Best-zone and peak-time guidance from live demand
  • Live earnings dashboard inside the driver app
  • Surge and zone pricing visible so drivers position smartly

Backed by the platform

Every payout is computed, not guessed

The numbers in this calculator aren’t marketing — they mirror how TaxiDex actually pays drivers. Fares are calculated server-side by the fare engine (zones, surge, surcharges, and per-region tax all applied with caps), so the figure a driver sees is the figure they earn.

Commission plans and driver settlements run automatically against those fares, and payouts go out daily via Stripe Connect to each driver’s debit card. Operators see the full P&L; drivers see a live earnings dashboard. Nothing is reconciled by hand, and every line is auditable.

Questions

About the earnings calculator

How the math works and what the numbers mean for your fleet.

How does this driver earnings calculator work?

It multiplies monthly trips by your average fare to get gross income, adds tips on top, subtracts any platform commission and your monthly fuel and vehicle costs, and shows the driver's monthly take-home plus the equivalent weekly figure. Everything recalculates instantly in your browser as you move the sliders — nothing is stored or sent anywhere.

Why is the TaxiDex commission set to 0%?

TaxiDex runs a flat-fee SaaS model: operators pay roughly $0.10–$0.15 per completed trip on the back end, and drivers keep 100% of fares and tips. That is why the default commission slider sits at 0% — there is no revenue share taken out of driver earnings. Slide it up to 25% to model a typical ride-hailing app and see the difference at the same activity level.

Are tips included in the take-home figure?

Yes. Tips are added on top of fare income and are never commissioned. On a TaxiDex fleet they flow straight to the driver. The breakdown shows tips as a separate positive line so you can see exactly how much they contribute.

How accurate are these numbers for driver recruitment?

The calculator is a planning estimate, not a guarantee — actual earnings vary with demand, hours worked, local fares, surge, and individual fuel and vehicle costs. Use it to build an honest driver-acquisition pitch grounded in real take-home math, then validate it against your own booking data in a TaxiDex demo.
