Five kinds of US fleet, one platform

Black car, NEMT, airport, corporate shuttle and on-demand taxi work have genuinely different requirements. These are the parts that differ.

Black car, livery and limo

Pre-booked, account-billed work with vehicle-class rules, quoted fares that hold, and a web booker suitable for a hotel concierge desk or a corporate intranet. Chauffeur presentation details travel on the job itself.

  • Vehicle-class rules that actually change the price
  • Corporate accounts with cost centres and consolidated invoicing

NEMT and paratransit

Non-emergency medical transport runs on recurring appointments, will-call returns and strict arrival windows rather than on street demand. Standing bookings, per-passenger requirements and an exportable trip record are handled as first-class cases.

  • Recurring and standing bookings
  • Exportable per-trip record for billing and review

Airport and FBO transfers

Flight tracking moves the pickup when the flight moves rather than only showing a status. Waiting charges use a free allowance and a defined per-minute rate afterwards, so the most disputed line on an invoice is consistent.

  • Pickups that follow the actual arrival time
  • Free waiting allowance, then a defined rate

Corporate shuttle

Fixed routes, repeating schedules and named riders, with the same finance suite behind them as on-demand work. Useful for campus, hotel and employee shuttle contracts that bill monthly.

  • Repeating schedules and fixed routes
  • Monthly invoicing per contract

Taxi and on-demand

Auto-dispatch rules, a live operations map and a fare engine with distance bands, time-of-day rates, surge and a minimum fare — all computed on the backend so a disputed fare can be shown line by line.

  • Backend-computed fares with a full breakdown
  • Auto-dispatch you can inspect

US billing and payouts

USD pricing, invoicing and reporting throughout, with Stripe as the default gateway and Stripe Connect for driver settlements. Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported for passenger payment.

Where US demand concentrates

Black car, limo and NEMT — not just taxi

The US market skews to pre-booked, account-billed work: executive transport, airport transfers and non-emergency medical trips. That changes which parts of a dispatch platform actually matter — invoicing, vehicle class and arrival windows rather than raw allocation speed.

Corporate accounts

Invoices your client's finance team will accept

Account work is where US black car and shuttle revenue concentrates, and where manual effort quietly accumulates. Accounts carry their own negotiated rates, bookers can place work for other passengers, and a cost centre or reference is captured at booking time rather than chased at month end.

Invoices consolidate across a billing period instead of arriving per booking, and credit limits are enforced rather than advisory.

TaxiDex fare engine showing base, distance, time, waiting and surge components

Fare engine

Fares computed on the server, and shown line by line

Base, distance bands, time, time-of-day rates, surge, waiting beyond a free allowance and a minimum fare each resolve in a defined order, on the backend. A fare a passenger disputes can be produced with its components adding up on screen.

Fixed airport routes and per-vehicle-class rates are configured explicitly, so a distance rule cannot quietly override the rate you set for a larger vehicle.

Records and controls

What you can prove afterwards

Licensing in the US is local, so the useful question is not whether software is 'compliant' but whether you can retrieve and defend a specific journey months later.

Driver and vehicle documents tracked with automatic suspension from dispatch on expiry
Backend-computed fares with a stored breakdown you can show a passenger or a regulator
Audit log of changes — cancelled bookings, edited fares, reassigned drivers
Per-tenant data isolation, role permissions and two-factor authentication
Self-service export of your own booking, driver and financial data
Configurable per-region tax rules applied at the fare level
Encryption in transit and at rest on every plan
Licensing itself is set locally — confirm your obligations with your city or state authority, not with a software vendor

Questions

US dispatch software, answered

What US taxi, black car, limo and NEMT operators ask before they switch.

Does TaxiDex work for US black car and livery operators?

Yes. Black car and livery work is pre-booked and account-billed rather than street-hailed, so the parts that matter are corporate accounts with cost centres and consolidated invoicing, vehicle-class rules that genuinely change the price, quoted fares that do not silently recalculate, and flight tracking that moves the pickup. Those are covered. Hourly as-directed charters are not a first-class booking type today — if that is a significant share of your work, raise it on the demo call.

Is TaxiDex suitable for NEMT providers?

It handles the operational side: recurring and standing bookings, arrival windows, will-call returns, per-passenger requirements and an exportable trip record for billing and review. It does not ship pre-built connections to specific Medicaid brokerages or state billing portals. If your contract requires submitting to a particular broker's system, ask about it before you evaluate anything else, because that integration work is the deciding factor rather than the dispatch itself.

What licensing rules does TaxiDex handle in the US?

Licensing in the United States is set locally rather than nationally — a TLC licence in New York City, airport permits per airport, and separate state or city rules elsewhere — so the requirements differ by where you operate. What the software does is track driver and vehicle documents against whatever set you configure and suspend a driver from dispatch automatically the moment a credential expires. Confirm which permissions and records apply to you with your own city or state authority.

How is TaxiDex priced in the US?

Per active driver per month, in USD: about $14 for fleets up to 20 drivers, $11 from 21 to 100, and from $9 above 100, with a one-time setup quoted to your fleet. There is no per-booking fee, which matters if you expect volume to grow. The full breakdown, including the monthly minimum, is on the pricing page.

Which payment gateways work in the United States?

Stripe is the default, including Stripe Connect for driver settlements, and Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported for passenger payment. Corporate account work does not need a gateway at the point of travel at all — it is billed on the account and invoiced on the client's cycle.

Can we migrate from an existing US platform?

The migration protocol targets a 14-day go-live and is published in full so you can judge the steps before committing. It covers drivers, vehicles, customer accounts and historical bookings, with a parallel-running period so your dispatchers move across when they are ready rather than on a fixed date. What takes the time is almost always extracting usable history from the outgoing system, so ask your current vendor what your export contains early.

Do the passenger apps carry our brand?

The passenger app and the web booker carry your name, colours and identity, and the booking widget sits on your own domain. The driver app is always TaxiDex-branded — we do not white-label it. It is worth pressing any vendor who says their driver app is "yours" on what that means in the app stores.
