How do recurring bookings work?
A standing order is entered once with its pattern, and the system creates the individual bookings ahead of time so they appear in the queue like any other job. School runs, hospital appointments and staff shuttles are typical examples.

How do you plan the day car by car?
With a timeline: one lane per car on shift plus a lane for unassigned jobs, each job a bar from its promised time for the length of the measured route. Dragging a bar plans or re-assigns it, and two jobs that overlap on one car are outlined in red before they become a late pickup.

How do shifts fit in?
Schedules set which days each shift is worked, shifts are the blocks of time, and hours-of-service rules limit how long a driver can work. A cover chart shows planned shifts for each hour of the week, so a gap shows up before it costs a booking.

Frequently asked questions
Can scheduling software handle school contracts?
Yes: school runs are recurring bookings with fixed times, entered once as standing orders and dispatched daily like other jobs.
What is the difference between scheduling and dispatch?
Scheduling plans pre-booked work and shifts ahead of time; dispatch sends each job to a driver when it is due. TaxiDex does both in one console.
