Inside TaxiDex

Timeline

The whole day laid out car by car, so you can plan before the phone rings.

Timeline in the TaxiDex dispatch console
The TaxiDex console, running on a demo fleet.

What it does

Timeline shows the day as lanes: one for every car on shift, plus a lane for jobs nobody has taken yet. Each job is a bar that starts at the time promised to the passenger and runs for as long as the measured route, so the gaps in a lane are the times that car is free.

Drag a bar onto a car to plan the job there, or between cars to re-assign it. Drag it sideways to re-time it in quarter hours. Every move also works from the keyboard.

When two jobs on the same car run into each other, both bars get a red outline, so the clash shows up on screen instead of at the pickup.

  • One lane per car, plus a lane for unassigned jobs
  • Drag to plan, re-assign or re-time a job
  • A red outline when two jobs on one car overlap
  • Zoom in for detail, or out to see the whole day
