Inside TaxiDex

Shifts and schedules

Plan who drives when, and keep shifts within the limits you set.

Shifts and schedules in the TaxiDex dispatch console
The TaxiDex console, running on a demo fleet.

What it does

Planning has three parts. Schedules are the patterns your fleet runs: which days each shift is worked. Shifts are the blocks of time themselves, such as an early, a day, a late and a night shift. Hours of service sets the limits on how long a driver can work.

A cover chart shows how many shifts are planned for each hour of the week, so a gap on a Sunday morning is visible before Sunday morning. Shift rules decide whether jobs can be assigned outside a driver's shift, and how much grace there is either side of it.

  • Schedules: which days each shift runs
  • Shifts with their own start and end times
  • A weekly cover chart to spot gaps
  • Hours-of-service limits and shift rules
