Dispatch software costs
How much does Autocab cost per month — and what the rate leaves out
Autocab does not publish a rate card. The figure commonly quoted in this market is around £11.40 per unit per month — indicative only, and we hold no Autocab price sheet. Autocab quotes per fleet, so confirm it against your own quote, and ask whether a unit means a vehicle or an active driver. Ask about two costs that may sit outside that rate: any one-off implementation fee, and any charge for work moving across its affiliate network. We hold no figure for either, and neither is published.
The billing unit
What you are actually paying for
Autocab is quoted per fleet rather than sold from a published list, so the shape of your bill is set in the quote, not on a website. What moves it most is the unit, not the rate. Billed per vehicle, spare cars, seasonal cars and anything off the road keep charging while producing nothing. Billed per active driver, the bill tracks who actually worked that month. Where cars outnumber working drivers, that one definition can outweigh a pound either way on the rate. Get it written into the quote.
The rest of the bill
Costs that sit outside the headline rate
Implementation and data migration
Dispatch platforms in this category commonly quote a one-off onboarding fee, typically described as covering configuration, tariff and zone build, data import and training. We hold no Autocab figure and cannot confirm what any Autocab fee would include. We hold no Autocab figure. The range commonly cited across the category is roughly £1,200 to £15,000 depending on fleet size and migration scope — indicative for the category, not Autocab's number. Ask for it itemised and ask what triggers a change order.
Dispatcher seats and back-office users
On older dispatch stacks the controller position is sometimes licensed separately from the fleet, so your bill grows when you add a night controller rather than when you add cars. Whether Autocab licenses seats this way is a question for your quote — we hold no seat price. Ask how many concurrent dispatch logins the quote includes and what an extra one costs.
The network side of the bill
Autocab's distinguishing asset is its affiliate network — overflow sent out, inbound work taken in. Marketplace work is a different commercial line from a software subscription, and we hold no figure for how Autocab prices it. Ask what it costs to send a job out, what share you keep on one you receive, and whether any of that lands on the same invoice.
Modules, hardware and support tiers
Older platforms commonly sell capability as modules and price support in tiers, so two quotes for the same fleet can differ mainly in what is switched on. Hardware sits outside the monthly rate too. Ask for one itemised sheet listing every module, the support tier, hardware, the contract term and the notice period — contract terms are facts to confirm, not assume.
Run the numbers
A worked example
Take 30 active drivers running 36 vehicles. TaxiDex sits in Professional (21–100) at £9/$11 per active driver: 30 × £9 = £270 a month, or 30 × $11 = $330. That clears the £79/$100 minimum, so the minimum does not bind. On the Autocab side we have no quoted price. Apply the indicative ~£11.40 per unit and the unit alone swings it: 30 drivers ≈ £342, 36 vehicles ≈ £410. Confirm both the rate and the unit in writing.
Competitor figures quoted anywhere on this site are indicative market numbers, not quotations we hold. Confirm the current rate — and the line items around it — directly with the vendor.

How much does Autocab cost per month?
Autocab quotes per fleet and does not publish a rate card, and we hold none. The figure commonly quoted in this market is around £11.40 per unit per month, which is indicative only — a ballpark to check your own quote against, not a number to budget from. The unit definition matters more than the rate: per vehicle bills your spare and seasonal cars, per active driver bills who worked. Get both the rate and the definition in writing.
Does Autocab charge a setup or implementation fee?
We hold no Autocab implementation figure and will not invent one — ask them directly. One-off onboarding covering configuration, tariffs, zones, data import and training is a normal line in this category, and the range commonly cited across dispatch vendors runs from roughly £1,200 to £15,000 depending on fleet size and migration scope. That is indicative for the category, not Autocab's price. Ask for it itemised, what is fixed versus day-rate, and what triggers a change order.
Is Autocab cheaper than TaxiDex?
We cannot answer that honestly, because only one of the two numbers is public. TaxiDex is £11/$14 per active driver on Starter (1–20), £9/$11 on Professional (21–100) and from £7/$9 on Enterprise (100+), with a £79/$100 monthly minimum and a 14-day free trial. Setup is a one-time fee scoped on the demo call. Autocab quotes per fleet, so put both on the same sheet — same fleet size, same billing unit, same first-year total — before deciding.
Does the £79 monthly minimum make TaxiDex expensive for a small fleet?
It binds only at the very bottom. At £11 per active driver, £79 is about seven drivers' worth (79 ÷ 11 ≈ 7.2), so from roughly seven drivers upward you are paying the per-driver rate and the minimum never appears. Below that you are paying for capacity you do not use, and a pay-as-you-go platform priced on active vehicles may genuinely suit a five-car operation better than we do.
Should Autocab's ownership affect what I expect to pay?
It is not a pricing question, but it is a commercial one, so weigh it deliberately. Autocab is publicly reported as Uber-owned. Where that touches cost is the network: if a real share of your revenue arrives as inbound work from an affiliate exchange, that network is part of what you are buying, and leaving it costs you those jobs. We operate no equivalent exchange. Price the jobs, not just the licence.
