Where does the tracking data come from?
In TaxiDex, from the driver app on each driver's phone or tablet, which sends its position to the console as it changes, including while the driver navigates in Google Maps or Waze. No separate GPS box is needed for dispatch tracking.

What should the live map show?
Every driver with a status you can read at a glance, every active job with its real driving route rather than a straight line, and the jobs nobody has taken yet. That is what lets a dispatcher judge whether a car can fit one more pickup on the way.
Why does trip history matter?
Because disputes come later: a passenger says the driver never came, or a fare seems high. A recorded route and status history settles it. In TaxiDex every booking has its own audit trail, including the route the job actually took and who changed what.

How do passengers track their car?
Through notifications at each step of the booking, by email, text message or app notification as you choose, and in the passenger app, which shows the car coming to them on the map with the minutes to arrival.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need GPS trackers in my taxis?
Not for dispatch tracking: the driver app reports the position. Hardware trackers are a separate choice for vehicle security or insurance.
Does tracking stop when the driver opens Google Maps?
Not in TaxiDex: the driver app keeps sending its location while the driver navigates in Google Maps or Waze, with a visible notification on the phone.
