How Much Does TaxiCaller Cost? What's Published, What Isn't

TaxiCaller does not publish a full rate card and we hold none. The number commonly quoted is around $28–$29 per active vehicle per month — indicative, confirm your own quote. The billing unit is commonly described as the vehicle rather than the driver — confirm it on your own quote — which would mean spares and seasonal cars bill like your busiest saloon. Two costs sit outside that rate: a one-time branded passenger app, commonly quoted at $1,500–$2,500, and whatever your plan tier gates.

The billing unit

What you are actually paying for

The licence is commonly described as attaching to the car." And change the later "The unit is the asset, not the person." to "If that holds on your quote, the unit is the asset, not the person. TaxiCaller is commonly described as billing per active vehicle per month on rolling monthly terms — verify both on your own quote. That shape is flat: the bill moves only when vehicle count moves, and trip volume is commonly described as unmetered, so a busy month costs what a quiet one does. The unit is the asset, not the person. Double-shift a car and you pay once for two drivers; keep a spare or a seasonal WAV and it bills like your busiest saloon.

The rest of the bill

Costs that sit outside the headline rate

The branded passenger app is a separate build

On the standard tier riders are commonly described as downloading a shared TaxiCaller-branded app and typing a company code to find you. A genuinely branded app is commonly described as a separate one-time charge, with figures circulating in the $1,500–$2,500 range depending on whether you want iOS, Android or both. Treat that as indicative and get it in writing.

Tier gating — the quoted number is one tier's number

Cloud dispatch is usually sold in tiers, and the per-vehicle figure people quote is one tier's figure, not the whole card. We hold no TaxiCaller module list. Before you compare anything, ask which tier carries account customers with credit terms and month-end invoicing, layered contract tariffs, and reporting detailed enough to argue a corporate rate.

"No setup fee" is not "no setup work"

A start without an implementation fee is commonly advertised, and the platform is commonly described as needing no hardware — confirm both on your own quote. Note what that does not cover: cleaning and importing your customer, driver, vehicle, zone and tariff data, rebuilding tariffs, and the staff hours to do it. Self-serve moves the setup cost onto you rather than removing it.

Volume discounts, pass-through billing and notice

We hold no TaxiCaller volume-discount sheet and no published tapering at 50 or 100 cars, so treat any discount as something you negotiate rather than something the price list hands you. Ask separately what support your tier carries, whether SMS, telephony, maps or payment processing are billed through them or your own accounts, and what the rolling notice period actually is.

Run the numbers

A worked example

Take 40 cars double-shifted by 55 drivers. TaxiDex Professional is £9/$11 per active driver: 55 × £9 = £495, or 55 × $11 = $605 a month, well above the £79/$100 minimum so it does not bind. The TaxiCaller side is indicative only — 40 × the commonly quoted $28–$29 is roughly $1,120–$1,160, plus a one-time branded app commonly quoted at $1,500–$2,500. Confirm both on your own quote.

Competitor figures quoted anywhere on this site are indicative market numbers, not quotations we hold. Confirm the current rate — and the line items around it — directly with the vendor.

Questions that get you a straight answer

Ask these of TaxiCaller, of us, and of anyone else on your shortlist. The answers are more revealing than the headline rate, and they are the numbers a quote is actually built from.

What is the per-unit price at my exact fleet size, in writing — and is the unit a vehicle, a driver or a trip?
Which tier is that number, and name every feature I lose at it: account customers with credit terms, month-end invoicing, layered contract tariffs, detailed reporting.
What does a passenger app carrying my brand cost, one-time and ongoing, for iOS, Android or both — and does the driver app carry my brand or yours?
Is there a setup fee, a monthly minimum, or a minimum vehicle or driver count? Put all three in the quote even if the answer is zero.
What is billed through you versus my own accounts — SMS, telephony, maps, payment processing — and at what rate?
Does the price taper at 50 or 100 units, and is that on the price list or negotiated case by case?
What is the notice period, and will you export customers, drivers, vehicles, zones, tariffs and trip history to CSV at no charge?

How much does TaxiCaller cost per month?

There is no full public rate card and we hold none, so any exact monthly figure you read — including ours — is indicative. The number commonly quoted is around $28–$29 per active vehicle per month. Multiply it by your licensed vehicle count for a first estimate, then treat that as the floor: a branded passenger app is commonly quoted as a separate one-time charge, and tier gating can move the number. Get the quote in writing.

Does TaxiCaller charge a setup fee?

A start without an implementation fee is commonly advertised, along with rolling monthly terms and no hardware — all three are contract facts we cannot confirm for you, so verify them on your own quote and in writing. Also separate "no setup fee" from "no setup work". Someone still has to clean and import customers, drivers, vehicles, zones and tariffs, and rebuild your fare rules. Self-serve moves that cost onto your staff rather than removing it.

Is TaxiDex cheaper than TaxiCaller?

It depends on your driver-to-vehicle ratio, so do the arithmetic rather than trusting either headline. TaxiDex is £11/$14 per active driver on Starter (1–20), £9/$11 on Professional (21–100), from £7/$9 on Enterprise (100+), with a £79/$100 monthly minimum. Against a commonly quoted $28–$29 per vehicle — indicative — per-vehicle only wins once drivers heavily outnumber cars, roughly two and a half drivers per vehicle at Professional. Below about seven drivers our minimum binds and we lose.

When is TaxiCaller the right answer and TaxiDex the wrong one?

When your vehicle count is low, your cars are heavily double-shifted so drivers outnumber them several times over, you are content with a shared passenger app your riders find with a company code, and being operational the same day matters more than anything else. Under about seven drivers our £79/$100 minimum dominates your bill and a low-entry per-vehicle platform is simply the better shape. Nobody should switch on principle.

What does switching away from TaxiCaller cost in downtime?

We publish a 14-day migration protocol rather than promising zero downtime, because nobody can honestly promise that. Both systems run live in parallel, the new one shadow-dispatches while the old stays authoritative, cutover happens shift by shift starting overnight, and the old platform stays licensed as your rollback. TaxiCaller is commonly described as pure cloud, in which case there would be no server to decommission — confirm that for your own install — the real work is the export, since records are keyed to vehicles and a per-driver system must be told who drives what.
