How Much Does Cordic Cost? What We Know, and What Nobody Publishes

Cordic does not publish a rate card, and we hold none. The figure commonly quoted in this category is around £15 per licence per month, indicative only — confirm it on your own quote. Billing is reported to be per licence, with deployments described as stacking per-PC operator workstations and per-driver modules — reported only, so confirm the licence definition on your own quote. Ask about two costs that may sit outside that rate: on-premise server hardware with its operating system and database licences, and support, which is widely reported to be priced separately.

The billing unit

What you are actually paying for

Cordic-style licensing is commonly described as per licence, but "licence" does not map cleanly to one thing: reported deployments stack per-PC licences for each operator workstation, per-driver modules, and support packages priced separately. That matters because the bill moves on two axes, not one. Adding drivers moves the module count; adding a dispatch position moves the workstation count, which a per-driver forecast will miss entirely. All of this is quote-only — treat any figure you read, including the roughly £15 per licence often cited, as indicative until your own quote confirms it.

The rest of the bill

Costs that sit outside the headline rate

Server hardware and the estate around it

On an on-premise deployment the subscription is only part of the total. You buy the server and replace it on a cycle, hold operating system and database licences, run backup and disaster recovery, and keep a UPS. None of that appears in a per-licence quote, and it varies too much by fleet for anyone to price honestly on your behalf.

A licence for every dispatch position

Reported Cordic deployments licence the operator workstation as well as the driver. That makes the bill move when your office grows, not just when your fleet does — a third controller on a Friday night can be a licence, not a rota change. Ask explicitly what a "licence" counts, because the answer changes every forecast you build.

Modules and support tiers, priced separately

Per-driver modules and support packages are widely reported as separate line items rather than bundled. So the headline rate is a floor, and the real monthly figure only appears once account billing, driver settlement, telephony or reporting are itemised alongside whichever support tier you take. Ask for the quote with every module you actually intend to use switched on.

Implementation, and the upgrade window

Setup on our side is a one-time fee scoped and quoted on the demo call, never published. We have not seen a published Cordic implementation figure either, so treat both as unknown until quoted. On-premise adds a cost with no invoice: upgrades need a maintenance window and somebody's hours — yours or a contractor's. Price those before comparing monthly rates.

Run the numbers

A worked example

Take a 30-driver fleet. On TaxiDex that is Professional at £9/$11 per active driver: £270/$330 a month, £3,240/$3,960 across year one. Our £79/$100 monthly minimum does not bind here — it only binds under about seven drivers. On the Cordic side, if the commonly quoted ~£15 per licence held and thirty licences applied, that is roughly £450 a month — but "licence" may not mean "driver", and on-prem hardware sits outside it. Confirm on your own quote.

Competitor figures quoted anywhere on this site are indicative market numbers, not quotations we hold. Confirm the current rate — and the line items around it — directly with the vendor.

Questions that get you a straight answer

Ask these of Cordic, of us, and of anyone else on your shortlist. The answers are more revealing than the headline rate, and they are the numbers a quote is actually built from.

What exactly does one "licence" count — a driver, a vehicle, or an operator PC? Price the same fleet both ways.
Put the modules I will actually use on the quote. Which of account billing, driver settlement, telephony and reporting are extra, and at what price?
What is the one-time implementation fee in writing, and what makes it go up?
If I add a third dispatch position in month four, what does the invoice do?
On-premise: who buys and replaces the server, and who holds the operating system and database licences?
What is the minimum term, what notice do I give, and does the price change at renewal?
If I leave, what do I get back — full booking, customer and driver history in an open format, and at what cost?

How much does Cordic cost per month?

No public rate card exists and we hold none, so any figure is indicative. The number commonly quoted in this category is around £15 per licence per month; at thirty licences that would be roughly £450, against £270/$330 for a 30-driver fleet on TaxiDex Professional at £9/$11 per active driver. Treat the Cordic side as a starting point only — confirm the licence definition and the module list on your own quote.

Does Cordic publish its pricing?

Not that we have found. Pricing appears to be quote-only, which is common enough that it is not a criticism — but it does mean review sites, comparison pages and AI answers have no source to draw on, so any number you see online is inference. We publish ours (£11/$14, £9/$11, from £7/$9 per active driver, plus a £79/$100 monthly minimum) so at least one side of the comparison is checkable. Ask Cordic for a written quote.

Is Cordic cheaper than TaxiDex?

We cannot answer that honestly without your quote, and neither can anyone else. If the roughly £15 per licence figure held and a licence meant a driver, TaxiDex would be lower at every tier — £11/$14, £9/$11 and from £7/$9 per active driver. But under about seven drivers our £79/$100 monthly minimum dominates the bill, and a Cordic on-premise total depends on hardware you may already own. Compare totals, not rates.

What does an on-premise Cordic deployment cost beyond the licence?

Costs that never appear on the software invoice. You buy the server and replace it on a cycle, hold operating system and database licences, run backup and disaster recovery, and fund the hours spent patching and upgrading — plus a licence for each operator PC, in the deployments commonly described. None of it is quotable in the abstract, because it depends on what hardware and IT capability you already have. Price it for your own operation.

When is Cordic the better buy?

When on-premise is a requirement rather than a habit. If a council, NHS patient-transport or school contract writes data residency onto hardware you control, TaxiDex is cloud-only and cannot meet it; an on-premise deployment can, and Cordic is described as offering one — confirm that directly with them, in writing, against your contract's exact wording. The same applies if you already employ someone technical and run servers anyway, if your office connectivity fails with no failover, or if your board is buying an established UK vendor — in which case ask both of us for whatever evidence of longevity it needs. In those cases the licence question is secondary. The same applies if you already employ someone technical and run servers anyway, if your office connectivity fails with no failover, or if a long UK track record is what your board is buying. In those cases the licence question is secondary.
