Dispatch software costs

How much does Cab9 cost per month?

Cab9 does not publish pricing and we hold no rate card, so any figure you find elsewhere is an estimate. It is commonly described as quoted per customer, as modules charged on usage — meaning the billing unit would be which capabilities you switch on and how hard you use them, rather than one per-vehicle rate. Treat that shape as indicative and confirm it on your quote. Ask about two costs that may sit outside it: any one-off implementation fee, and a white-label passenger app that appears to sit on a separate line. Confirm both on your quote.

The billing unit

What you are actually paying for

Cab9 is sold as a custom quote assembled from modules on a usage basis, so there is no single unit to multiply. The bill is a function of which capabilities you switch on and how heavily they are used, which means it can move when your requirements change and not only when your fleet does. Turning on a new capability may reprice you without adding a car, and whether a quiet month reduces anything depends on how usage is counted. Ask for the module catalogue priced line by line — that list is the real price.

The rest of the bill

Costs that sit outside the headline rate

The implementation project

Setup is quoted per customer and we hold no Cab9 number. Judge it by the work involved: contract-shaped operations carry school-run manifests, escort rules, cost-centre structures and zone tariffs, and that configuration is the project. Across platforms in this class, one-off implementation is commonly quoted at £1,200 to £15,000 — indicative, and not a Cab9 figure. Get yours in writing.

The white-label passenger app

Our reading of Cab9's packaging is that a fully white-labelled passenger app sits outside the base package as its own charge — indicative, so confirm it on your quote. It matters more than a line item suggests: the customer-facing app decides whether repeat riders book you direct or open Uber. Ask for it priced on the same sheet.

The modules you don't need yet

Because the package is modular and usage-based, the capability you do not need today is a repricing event the month you do. Ask for the full module catalogue with prices, not just the ones in your proposal, and ask what happens when usage passes whatever threshold the quote assumes — that is where an overage lands.

Bespoke contract terms

Custom quotes travel with custom paperwork, so there is no standard notice period, renewal uplift or data-return clause to look up — yours are whatever your schedule says. If your schedule carries a ninety-day notice period, discovering it in week two of an evaluation costs you a quarter. Read your own signed schedule before you take any demo call, ours included.

Run the numbers

A worked example

Take a 30-driver fleet. On TaxiDex that is Professional: 30 × £9 = £270 a month, or 30 × $11 = $330. The £79/$100 monthly minimum does not bind at that size — it only matters below about seven drivers. Setup is a one-time fee quoted on the call. We cannot show a Cab9 column, because no public rate exists. Get its quote broken out by module, passenger app and implementation, then divide the monthly total by 30 to get a per-driver figure you can hold against £9.

Competitor figures quoted anywhere on this site are indicative market numbers, not quotations we hold. Confirm the current rate — and the line items around it — directly with the vendor.

Questions that get you a straight answer

Ask these of Cab9, of us, and of anyone else on your shortlist. The answers are more revealing than the headline rate, and they are the numbers a quote is actually built from.

Send the quote as a line-item sheet — every module, the white-label passenger app, implementation and support priced separately. What is my total if I switch nothing else on for two years?
Which capabilities in the demo I just watched are inside the price you quoted me, and which are separate modules I would be billed for?
What usage volume does this quote assume, and exactly what am I charged when I pass it?
What is the renewal uplift, in writing, and what notice period am I signing to?
Whose logo is on the driver app, and whose is on the passenger app? Ask us the same question — our passenger app and web booker carry your brand, and our driver app is always TaxiDex-branded.
If I leave, do I get one export of all my data in CSV, or one export per module, and how many days does it take?
Can I speak to two operators running my kind of work on your platform? Put that to us too — we have none to offer and we will tell you so rather than manufacture one.

Compare the whole cost, not the headline rate

The buyer's guide has the requirements worksheet and the weighted scorecard we use, plus how each pricing model behaves as a fleet grows. Vendor-neutral — it works just as well for shortlisting someone other than us.

How much does Cab9 cost per month?

There is no published figure. Cab9 sells on a custom quote built from modules charged on usage, so the monthly cost depends on which capabilities you enable and how hard you use them — and we hold no rate card, so we will not put a range in your head that your quote then has to live up to. The number you should trust is the one on your own line-item quote, with implementation and the passenger app shown separately.

Isn't there at least a ballpark figure for Cab9?

Not one we would stand behind. Figures for quote-only vendors circulate on comparison sites without a source, and a wrong anchor costs you real money: too low and you feel ambushed, too high and you accept a bad number gratefully. What we can tell you is the shape — modular, usage-based, quoted per customer, with the white-label passenger app apparently outside the base package. Confirm that shape on your own call.

What does TaxiDex cost, for comparison?

Published, so you can check it before speaking to anyone: £11/$14 per active driver on Starter (1–20 drivers), £9/$11 on Professional (21–100) and from £7/$9 on Enterprise (100+), with a £79/$100 monthly minimum and a 14-day free trial. Corporate accounts, recurring routes and tariffs are in the product rather than modules. Setup is a one-time fee scoped and quoted on the demo call — we do not publish a number we would have to revise.

Is modular pricing ever cheaper than a flat per-driver rate?

Yes, and it is worth saying so. If you run a small fleet and genuinely use two or three capabilities — take the booking, dispatch it, invoice it — a modular quote can land under any all-in per-driver price, ours included. Our £79/$100 monthly minimum also bites hardest at the smallest sizes. Modular billing gets expensive when your requirements grow, not when they stay still. Price both against the fleet you expect to run in two years, not today's.

Does "white-label" cover the driver app?

On TaxiDex, no, and we say it plainly because it is the detail proposals gloss. The passenger app and web booker carry your brand on every plan with no separate line; the driver app is always TaxiDex-branded. Our reading of Cab9's packaging is that its white-label passenger app is charged outside the base package — indicative, so check your own quote. Whichever vendor you ask, make them name which app carries whose logo, in writing.
