Cabsoluit Alternatives

Cabsoluit sits with small and mid-size UK private-hire operators and school-run contractors — pay-as-you-go tiers priced by active vehicle, commonly quoted from around £15 a month, and commonly advertised with no setup fee and no lock-in — indicative, check your own quote. That model is genuinely hard to argue with while you're small. Operators start looking elsewhere for structural reasons rather than unhappy ones: the published tiers are commonly quoted as running out around fifty cars, and airport and corporate work asks for depth the price point was never built to fund.

The trigger

Why operators start looking past Cabsoluit

The published tiers stop at about fifty cars

Cabsoluit's active-vehicle bands are commonly quoted up to roughly fifty vehicles — indicative, and worth checking against your own quote. Past that you're in custom-quote territory, which is exactly where the transparency that made the platform attractive disappears. Operators who chose it because they could read the price off a page find themselves negotiating one instead, right at the point they have least time to.

You're billed by car, not by who's driving it

Active-vehicle pricing rewards fleets that work every car hard across multiple shifts, and penalises the opposite: relief cars, seasonal vehicles, a spare kept for MOT week. It also means the definition of 'active' is the vendor's, not yours. Before you compare anything, count how many vehicles you'd actually be billed for in a quiet February — not in August.

Airport and corporate work is where it thins out

The school-run and PHV core is solid. The ceiling shows up when a fleet wins an account book: cost-centre billing, purchase-order references, per-department invoicing, flight-number tracking with delay-aware pickup times, and a fare engine that can price waiting time and multi-drop the way a contract specifies. Those are the requirements that usually trigger the search, not dissatisfaction with the basics.

It is built for one market

Cabsoluit is a UK product, and that focus is part of why it fits UK licensing and school contracts so neatly. It becomes a constraint the moment you open a depot abroad, take multi-currency corporate work, or need tax and compliance handling for a second jurisdiction. A single-market product is a good fit until your operation stops being single-market.

The other side

When staying on Cabsoluit is the right call

If you run under about eight drivers, stay put. Cabsoluit's entry tiers are commonly quoted from around £15 a month with no setup fee and no lock-in — check your own quote. TaxiDex carries a £79/$100 monthly minimum, so below that headcount we are simply the more expensive answer.

The options

What operators actually move to

TaxiDex

That’s us

Fleets past the fifty-car ceiling that have won corporate account or airport work

Per active driver, not per car: £11 on Starter, £9 from 21 drivers, from £7 above 100 — the same published price past fifty vehicles. Corporate cost-centre billing, flight tracking and the fare engine are in the platform. The £79/$100 monthly minimum means we are the wrong answer for a five-car fleet. Setup is quoted on the demo call.

Autocab

Fleets whose growth depends on inbound network work rather than their own book

Autocab is commonly described as the largest UK partner network, and the iGo marketplace feeds jobs into it. We do not have that, and pretending otherwise would be useless to you. The trade-off is ownership: Autocab is Uber-owned, a point the CMA has noted, so your dispatch platform and your marketplace belong to a competitor. Pricing is commonly per vehicle; get it in writing.

Cordic

Operators who must hold dispatch data on their own hardware, on-premise

Cordic is the long-standing UK option that will still run on-premise, which matters if a council contract or your own policy requires the database to sit on hardware you control. TaxiDex is cloud-only, so we cannot serve that requirement. The costs are yours too: servers, patching, scheduled maintenance windows. Licensing is commonly quoted per PC or per driver — verify.

TaxiCaller

Very small fleets below our monthly minimum that still want cloud dispatch

If Cabsoluit's tiers are the wrong shape but you only run three or four cars, TaxiCaller is the honest recommendation over us — rolling terms, per-active-vehicle pricing commonly quoted around $28–$29, indicative only. The catch is branding: the base tier uses a shared passenger app, and a white-label build is commonly quoted as a four-figure one-off.

Competitor pricing and terms quoted anywhere on this site are indicative market figures, not quotations we hold. Confirm the current number, and the line items around it, directly with the vendor.

Practicalities

What moving off Cabsoluit involves

The contract side is the easy part: pay-as-you-go with no lock-in means no notice period to unwind. The work is data. Ask for CSV or SQL, not PDF reports. Vehicle records map across cleanly; driver seats do not, because you are moving from a per-vehicle model to a per-driver one. Recurring school-run routes and standing orders rarely export intact — budget to rebuild and re-price them.

If the trigger was the renewal quote rather than the software, the anatomy of that bill is broken down separately in what Cabsoluit actually costs — the billing unit, and the charges that sit outside the headline rate.

The mechanics are the same whichever platform you land on: export and establish what you actually own while you are still a paying customer, then run both systems in parallel and cut over shift by shift with the old one still licensed behind you. That method is published in full as the 14-day migration protocol.

Is TaxiDex cheaper than Cabsoluit?

It depends entirely on headcount, and below roughly eight drivers the answer is no. TaxiDex carries a £79/$100 monthly minimum, so a five-car operator pays that floor while Cabsoluit's entry tiers are commonly quoted far lower. Above that, you are comparing per active driver — £11, then £9 above 20 drivers, from £7 above 100 — against per active vehicle. Count both against your real roster before deciding; we hold no Cabsoluit price sheet.

Can we keep our school-run contracts and recurring routes?

Yes — recurring bookings, repeating route templates and driver/vehicle document-expiry alerts are built in, and PHV licensing data is tracked rather than bolted on. The honest caveat is the export, not the destination: standing orders and per-passenger notes are the records most likely to come out of any dispatch system in a shape that needs rebuilding by hand. Plan for that in days one to three of the migration, before term starts.

Do our drivers get an app with our branding on it?

No, and this is worth being clear about because the industry is loose with it. The passenger app and the web booker carry your brand — your name, your colours, your listing. The driver app is always TaxiDex-branded. Drivers are your staff or your contractors, not your customers, and they cope with a TaxiDex icon; the person choosing whether to book you again is the one who needs to see your name.

Will we lose bookings during the switch?

We will not promise you zero downtime, because nobody honestly can. What we publish instead is a 14-day migration protocol: both systems run live in parallel, the new one shadow-dispatches while the old one stays authoritative, drivers carry both apps, and cutover happens shift by shift starting overnight. Keep the old platform licensed until three consecutive clean days have passed — rollback is only real if it is still switched on.

Does TaxiDex have a booking network like the big UK platforms?

Not at Autocab's scale, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. If a meaningful share of your work arrives from a national partner network, that is a real reason to look at Autocab instead of us — the network is the product you are buying. We have partner-fleet routing between operators already on TaxiDex, which is a different thing. If your book is your own — school contracts, accounts, local repeat trade — the network matters far less than what it costs to run it.
